Section 1-Membership Standards and Application

1. All applicants for membership who fully and without reservation subscribe to the objectives and purposes of the Association, hold a for-profit tax status, offer adult (13 years and older) membership-based, brick/mortar (non-virtual), access to exercise facilities and amenities such as: cardiovascular equipment, free weights, selectorized machines, group exercise, yoga/Pilates or similar equipment, and otherwise meets the standards pursuant to the definitions included in Item H of the State of Michigan Athletic Services Providers Act 31 of 1990 (Section 333.26301)) and is currently registered and in good standing with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) shall be eligible for membership in the Association.  Prospective members that meet this standard shall submit an application, provided by the Association, and payment for one year’s dues.  Upon receipt and verification of these standards the prospective member shall be granted full membership with all rights and privileges in the Association.
2. Each member shall in the application process furnish the Association Office with the official contact information, in both electronic and physical address format, for the purpose of good communication with the member for all official notices sent by the Association.
3. Each Member shall designate one person as their Member of Record for the purpose of voting and official communication.

Each individual property location shall constitute a separate membership within the Association.
